OUTREACH REQUIREMENTS FOR DEPARTMENT OF 1 VETERANS AFFAIRS TRAINING AND REHA-2 BILITATION PROGRAMS FOR VETERANS WITH 3 SERVICE-CONNECTED DISABILITIES. 4 (a) VRE C ONTACTINFORMATION.—Section 3104 of 5 title 38, United States Code, is amended by adding at the 6 end the following new subsection: 7 ‘‘(f) The Secretary shall establish a dedicated tele-8 phone number within the Education Call Center of the De-9 partment for calls about services provided under this chap-10 ter. Each regional office of the Department shall include, 11 on the website of the regional office, a name, telephone 12 number, and email address, through which veterans may 13 receive information about services provided under this 14 chapter.’’. 15 (b) O UTREACHREQUIREMENT.— 16 (1) I N GENERAL.—Chapter 31 of title 38, 17 United States Code, is amended by adding at the 18 end the following new section: 19 ‘‘§ 3123. Outreach requirements 20 ‘‘(a) Q UESTION ANDANSWERSESSIONS.—The Sec-21 retary shall require each employee of the Department 22 whose responsibilities include providing counseling and 23 services under this chapter to attend a monthly question 24 and answer session with appropriate school certifying offi-25 cials. 26 VerDate Sep 11 2014 17:29 Mar 19, 2025 Jkt 059200 PO 00000 Frm 00002 Fmt 6652 Sfmt 6201 E:\BILLS\H1793.IH H1793 ssavage on LAPJG3WLY3PROD with BILLS 3 •HR 1793 IH ‘‘(b) INFORMATIONAL BRIEFINGS.—(1) The Sec-1 retary shall require each veteran readiness and employ-2 ment counselor to provide for veterans at each educational 3 institution located in the geographic area served by the 4 Regional Office where the counselor is employed an in- 5 person briefing about services provided under this chapter. 6 ‘‘(2) The Secretary may provide a briefing required 7 under paragraph (1) virtually in the case of an educational 8 institution located more than 150 miles away from the 9 headquarters of the Regional Office. 10 ‘‘(c) A NNUALREPORT.—Not later than one year 11 after the date of the enactment of this section, and annu-12 ally thereafter, the Secretary shall submit to the Commit-13 tees on Veterans’ Affairs of the Senate and House of Rep-14 resentatives a report on the extension of periods of voca-15 tional rehabilitation programs under section 3105(c) of 16 this title. Outreach requirements.’’.
