| 37 | 37 | | suant to subsection (a). Each such State shall enter into 7 |

| 38 | 38 | | an agreement with a non-profit organization to carry out 8 |

| 42 | 42 | | short-term fellowship program carried out by a State pur-11 |

| 44 | 44 | | (1) consist of veterans participating as fellows 13 |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | with an employer for a period not exceeding 20 14 |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | weeks; 15 |

| 47 | 47 | | (2) provide to such veterans a monthly stipend 16 |
|---|
| 48 | 48 | | during such period; and 17 |
|---|
| 49 | 49 | | (3) provide to such veterans an opportunity to 18 |
|---|
| 50 | 50 | | be employed on a long-term basis with the employer 19 |
|---|
