| 32 | 32 | | NGENERAL.—Chapter 6 of title 23, United 3 |

| 35 | 35 | | ‘‘§ 612. Ineligibility of sanctuary jurisdictions for cer-6 |

|---|
| 37 | 37 | | ‘‘(a) I |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | NGENERAL.—The Secretary of Transportation 8 |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | shall not obligate or award funds for any infrastructure 9 |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | project, including for highway construction, to a political 10 |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | subdivision of a State, nor shall any funds obligated or 11 |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | awarded to a State, go to any political subdivision of a 12 |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | State that does not have in effect not later than 1 year 13 |
|---|
| 44 | 44 | | after the date of enactment of the BLOC Act a statute, 14 |
|---|
| 45 | 45 | | ordinance, policy, or practice requiring an entity or official 15 |
|---|
| 46 | 46 | | of such political subdivision to notify the Secretary of 16 |
|---|
| 47 | 47 | | Homeland Security (or designee thereof) not later than 17 |
|---|
| 48 | 48 | | 48 hours before of the release from custody or detainment 18 |
|---|
| 49 | 49 | | of an alien if— 19 |
|---|
| 50 | 50 | | ‘‘(1) the Secretary of Homeland Security (or 20 |
|---|
| 51 | 51 | | designee thereof) has determined that such alien is 21 |
|---|
| 52 | 52 | | not lawfully present in the United States; 22 |
|---|
| 53 | 53 | | ‘‘(2) not later than 48 hours before such re-23 |
