To amend the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets
Act of 1968 to provide for the inclusion of an additional
use of Byrne-JAG grant funds.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Bodega Owner Defense 4
Enhancement Grant Assistance Act of 2025’’ or the 5
‘‘BODEGA Act of 2025’’. 6

SEC. 2. INCLUSION OF ADDITIONAL USE OF GRANT 1
AMOUNTS. 2
Section 501 of title I of the Omnibus Crime Control 3
and Safe Streets Act of 1968 (34 U.S.C. 10152) is amend-4
ed— 5
(1) in subsection (a)(1), by adding at the the 6
end the following: 7
‘‘(H) The installation of panic buttons, 8
and surveillance equipment in a private busi-9
ness.’’; and 10
(2) in subsection (b)— 11
(A) in paragraph (1), by striking ‘‘or’’ at 12
the end; 13
(B) in paragraph (2), by striking the pe-14
riod at the end and inserting ‘‘; or’’; and 15
(C) by adding at the end the following: 16
‘‘(3) private businesses that are classified under 17
the North American Industrial Classification Code 18
