2828 SEC. 2. CONTINUING APPROPRIATIONS FOR CERTAIN EM-1
2929 PLOYEES OF CBP AND ICE. 2
3030 (a) I
3131 NGENERAL.—There are appropriated, out of 3
3232 any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, 4
3333 such sums as are necessary to pay, during the period of 5
3434 any lapse in discretionary appropriations occurring on or 6
3535 after the date of the enactment of this Act, the salaries 7
3636 and expenses of— 8
3737 (1) U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents 9
3838 and officers who are performing mission critical 10
3939 functions at United States Southwest, Northern, and 11
4040 maritime border ports of entry, and between such 12
4141 ports of entry, including preventing terrorists, ter-13
4242 rorists weapons, illegal aliens, illicit drugs, and other 14
4343 illegal contraband; and 15
4444 (2) U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforce-16
4545 ment officers and agents who conduct— 17
4646 (A) immigration enforcement, including de-18
4747 taining and removing aliens (as defined in sec-19
4848 tion 101 of the Immigration and Nationality 20
4949 Act); and 21
5050 (B) investigations of criminal operations 22
5151 and organizations, including— 23
5252 (i) the illegal trade of contraband 24
5353 such as goods, weapons, and drugs; and 25

6060 ERMINATION.—Appropriations and funds made 3
6161 available and authority granted pursuant to this section 4
6262 shall be available until whichever of the following first oc-5
6363 curs: 6
6464 (1) The enactment into law of an appropriation 7
6565 (including a continuing appropriation) for any pur-8
6666 pose for which amounts are made available in sub-9
6767 section (a). 10
6868 (2) The enactment into law of the applicable 11
6969 regular or continuing appropriations resolution or 12
7070 other Act without any appropriation for such pur-13
7171 pose. 14
