To amend title V of the Social Security Act to require
assurances that certain family planning service projects
and programs will provide pamphlets containing the con-
tact information of adoption centers.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Adoption Information 4
Act’’. 5

SEC. 2. PROVISION IN FAMILY PLANNING SERVICES OF 1
PAMPHLETS CONTAINING ADOPTION CENTER 2
CONTACT INFORMATION. 3
Title V of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 701 4
et seq.) is amended by adding at the end the following: 5
‘‘SEC. 514. LIMITATION. 6
‘‘(a) I
NGENERAL.—Notwithstanding any other pro-7
vision of this title, a grant may be made or contract en-8
tered into under section 501 for a family planning service 9
project or program only upon assurances satisfactory to 10
the Secretary that the project or program will— 11
‘‘(1) provide to each person to whom the med-12
ical professional provides family planning medical 13
services, at the time the person inquires about med-14
ical or abortion services, a pamphlet that contains— 15
‘‘(A) a comprehensive list of the adoption 16
centers located in the region (as determined by 17
the Secretary) where the adoption services are 18
provided; and 19
‘‘(B) the address and telephone number of 20
each such center; and 21
‘‘(2) provide each such person an opportunity to 22
read the pamphlet. 23
‘‘(b) P
AMPHLETS.—The Secretary shall prepare, an-24
nually update, and distribute to each project or program 25

referred to in subsection (a) pamphlets described in such 1
subsection. 2
‘‘(c) N
OADDITIONALFUNDS.—No funds may be 3
used to carry out this section, except funds that are appro-4
priated to carry out this title.’’. 5
