2727 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Ending Drug Traf-4
2828 ficking in Our Communities Act’’. 5

3535 EAUTHORIZATION.—Section 707(p) of the Of-3
3636 fice of National Drug Control Policy Reauthorization Act 4
3737 of 1998 (21 U.S.C. 1706(p)) is amended— 5
3838 (1) in paragraph (5), by striking ‘‘and’’; 6
3939 (2) in paragraph (6), by striking the period at 7
4040 the end and inserting ‘‘; and’’; and 8
4141 (3) by adding at the end the following: 9
4242 ‘‘(7) $400,000,000 for each of fiscal years 2026 10
4343 through 2031.’’. 11

4747 RACTICES.—Section 707(q) of such Act (21 U.S.C. 13
4848 1706(q)) is amended by adding at the end the following: 14
4949 ‘‘(4) P
5050 ROMISING PRACTICES.—Beginning in fis-15
5151 cal year 2026, and each fiscal year thereafter, the 16
5252 Director shall do the following: 17
5353 ‘‘(A) For each promising practice that the 18
5454 Director identifies, review the promising prac-19
5555 tice to determine whether the promising prac-20
5656 tice has the potential to enhance the efficiency 21
5757 and effectiveness of the activities performed by 22
5858 means of a HIDTA, including the following: 23
5959 ‘‘(i) The identification and investiga-24
6060 tion of any entity that is responsible for 25

6666 ‘‘(ii) Information sharing and coordi-3
6767 nation for Federal, State, territorial, Trib-4
6868 al, and local responses to crimes that in-5
6969 volve an illegal drug and criminal use of a 6

7171 ‘‘(iii) The implementation and evalua-8
7272 tion of evidence-based substance use dis-9
7373 order prevention practices, programs, and 10
7474 strategies. 11
7575 ‘‘(B) For each promising practice that the 12
7676 Director determines to have such potential, de-13
7777 velop the promising practice for use by each 14
7878 HIDTA. 15
7979 ‘‘(C) Promulgate each promising practice 16
8080 developed under subparagraph (B) to each 17
8181 HIDTA.’’. 18
