To require the Inspector General of the Department of Hous-
ing and Urban Development to testify before the Con-
gress annually, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘HUD Transparency 4
Act of 2025’’. 5
SEC. 2. CONGRESSIONAL TESTIMONY. 6
Not later than October 1 of each year, the Inspector 7
General of the Department of Housing and Urban Devel-8
opment shall appear before the Committee on Financial 9

Services of the House of Representatives and the Com-1
mittee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs of the 2
Senate and present testimony on the Office of Inspector 3
General’s— 4
(1) efforts to detect and prevent fraud, waste, 5
and abuse; 6
(2) ability to conduct and supervise audits, in-7
vestigations, and reviews; 8
(3) actions to identify opportunities for the pro-9
grams of the Department of Housing and Urban 10
Development to progress and succeed; 11
(4) recommendations to improve overall effi-12
ciency and public accountability; 13
(5) assessment of the extent to which the De-14
partment of Housing and Urban Development has 15
resources sufficient to carry out its statutory mis-16
sion; and 17
(6) ongoing activities regarding any such addi-18
tional work, as appropriate. 19
