To permit the televising of Supreme Court proceedings. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Cameras in the Court-4
room Act’’. 5
SEC. 2. AMENDMENT TO TITLE 28. 6
(a) I
NGENERAL.—Chapter 45 of title 28, United 7
States Code, is amended by adding at the end the fol-8
lowing: 9
‘‘§ 678. Televising Supreme Court proceedings 10
‘‘The Supreme Court shall permit television coverage 11
of all open sessions of the Court unless the Court decides, 12

by a vote of the majority of justices, that allowing such 1
coverage in a particular case would constitute a violation 2
of the due process rights of one or more of the parties 3
before the Court.’’. 4
(b) C
LERICALAMENDMENT.—The chapter analysis 5
for chapter 45 of title 28, United States Code, is amended 6
by adding at the end the following: 7
‘‘678. Televising Supreme Court proceedings.’’.
