19	19	To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to provide
20	20	coverage of portable ultrasound transportation and set
21	21	up services under the Medicare program.
22	22	Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
23	23	tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
24	24	SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
25	25	This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Portable Ultrasound 4
26	26	Reimbursement Equity Act of 2025’’. 5

32	32	THE MEDICARE PROGRAM. 3
33	33	(a) I
34	34	NGENERAL.—Section 1861(s)(3) of the Social 4
35	35	Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395x(s)(3)) is amended by strik-5
36	36	ing ‘‘diagnostic X-ray tests’’ and inserting ‘‘diagnostic X- 6
37	37	ray and ultrasound tests’’. 7

41	41	LTRASOUND TRANSPORTATION SERVICES.—Section 9
42	42	1834 of the Social Security Act (42 U.S.C. 1395m) is 10
43	43	amended by adding at the end the following new sub-11
44	44	section: 12
45	45	‘‘(aa) E
46	46	NSURINGEQUITABLEPAYMENT FORPORT-13
47	47	ABLEULTRASOUNDTRANSPORTATION AND SET UPSERV-14
48	48	ICES.— 15
49	49	‘‘(1) I
50	50	N GENERAL.—The Secretary shall provide 16
51	51	a separate payment under this part for portable 17
52	52	ultrasound transportation and set up services in the 18
53	53	same manner and to the same extent that separate 19
54	54	payments are provided for portable X-ray transpor-20
55	55	tation and set up services. 21
56	56	‘‘(2) P
57	57	AYMENT REQUIREMENTS .—The Sec-22
58	58	retary shall specify requirements applicable to sup-23
59	59	pliers of portable ultrasound transportation and set 24
60	60	up services under this part. Such requirements shall 25
61	61	be substantially similar to the requirements applica-26

66	66	part C of part 486 of title 42, Code of Federal Reg-2
67	67	ulations (or a successor regulation).’’. 3

69	69	FFECTIVEDATE.—The amendments made by 4
70	70	this section shall apply with respect to services furnished 5
71	71	on or after January 1, 2027. 6
