SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘SSI Savings Penalty 4
Elimination Act’’. 5

SEC. 2. UPDATE IN ELIGIBILITY FOR THE SUPPLEMENTAL 1
SECURITY INCOME PROGRAM. 2
(a) U
PDATE INRESOURCELIMIT FORINDIVIDUALS 3
ANDCOUPLES.—Section 1611(a)(3) of the Social Security 4
Act (42 U.S.C. 1382(a)(3)) is amended— 5
(1) in subparagraph (A), by striking ‘‘$2,250’’ 6
and all that follows through the end of the subpara-7
graph and inserting ‘‘$20,000 in calendar year 8
2025, and shall be increased as described in section 9
1617(d) for each subsequent calendar year.’’; and 10
(2) in subparagraph (B), by striking ‘‘$1,500’’ 11
and all that follows through the end of the subpara-12
graph and inserting ‘‘$10,000 in calendar year 13
2025, and shall be increased as described in section 14
1617(d) for each subsequent calendar year.’’. 15
(b) I
NFLATIONADJUSTMENT.—Section 1617 of such 16
Act (42 U.S.C. 1382f) is amended— 17
(1) in the section heading, by inserting ‘‘;

FLATION ADJUSTMENT ’’ after ‘‘BENEFITS’’; and 19
(2) by adding at the end the following: 20
‘‘(d) In the case of any calendar year after 2025, each 21
of the dollar amounts specified in section 1611(a)(3) shall 22
be increased by multiplying the dollar amount by the 23
quotient (not less than 1) obtained by dividing— 24
‘‘(1) the average of the Consumer Price Index 25
for all urban consumers (all items; United States 26
