A BILL
To remove certain species from the lists of threatened species
and endangered species published pursuant to the En-
dangered Species Act of 1973.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. REMOVAL OF CERTAIN SPECIES FROM LISTS 3
OF THREATENED SPECIES AND ENDANGERED 4
SPECIES. 5
(a) I
NGENERAL.—Notwithstanding any other provi-6
sion of law, the following species are removed from the 7
lists of threatened species and endangered species, as ap-8
plicable, that are published pursuant to section 4 of the 9
Endangered Species Act of 1973 (16 U.S.C. 1533): 10

(1) Arabian oryx (Oryx leucoryx). 1
(2) Banteng (Bos javanicus). 2
(3) Eld’s brow-antlered deer (Cervus eldi). 3
(4) Grevy’s zebra (Equus grevyi). 4
(5) Red lechwe (Kobus leche). 5
(6) Seledang (Bos gaurus). 6
(7) Swamp deer (Cervus duvauceli). 7

UKHARANMARKHOR.—Section 4(a) of the En-8
dangered Species Act of 1973 (16 U.S.C. 1533(a)) is 9
amended— 10
(1) in paragraph (1), by striking ‘‘The Sec-11
retary shall by regulation’’ and inserting ‘‘Except as 12
provided in paragraph (4), the Secretary shall by 13
regulation’’; and 14
(2) by adding at the end the following: 15
‘‘(4) A
PPLICABILITY TO BUKHARANMARKHOR.— 16
The Secretary may not make a determination under this 17
subsection that the Bukharan markhor (Capra falconeri 18
heptneri) is a threatened species or an endangered spe-19
cies.’’. 20
