A BILL
To improve coordination between Federal and State agencies
and the Do Not Pay working system.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Ending Improper Pay-4
ments to Deceased People Act’’. 5
SEC. 2. IMPROVING COORDINATION BETWEEN FEDERAL 6
AND STATE AGENCIES AND THE DO NOT PAY 7
WORKING SYSTEM. 8
(a) I
NGENERAL.—Section 801(a) of title VIII of di-9
vision FF of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 10

(Public Law 116–260) is amended by striking paragraph 1
(7) and inserting the following: 2
‘‘(7) by adding at the end the following para-3
graph: 4
‘‘‘(11) The Commissioner of Social Security shall, to 5
the extent feasible, provide information furnished to the 6
Commissioner under paragraph (1) to the agency oper-7
ating the Do Not Pay working system described in section 8
3354(c) of title 31, United States Code, for the authorized 9
uses of the Do Not Pay working system through a cooper-10
ative arrangement with such agency, provided that the re-11
quirements of subparagraphs (A) and (B) of paragraph 12
(3) are met with respect to such arrangement with such 13
agency.’.’’. 14
(b) C
ONFORMINGAMENDMENT.—Section 801(b)(2) 15
of title VIII of division FF of the Consolidated Appropria-16
tions Act, 2021 (Public Law 116–260) is amended by 17
striking ‘‘on the date that is 3 years after the date of en-18
actment of this Act’’ and inserting ‘‘on December 28, 19
2026’’. 20
(c) E
FFECTIVEDATE.—The amendments made by 21
this section shall take effect on December 28, 2026. 22
