To amend title 38, United States Code, to provide for the
termination of a certain educational assistance program,
and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Gold Star Family Edu-4
cation Parity Act’’. 5
SEC. 2. TERMINATION OF AUTHORITY FOR CERTAIN EDU-6
CATIONAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. 7

is amended by adding at the end the following new sub-1
chapter: 2
‘‘SUBCHAPTER VIII—TERMINATION 3
‘‘§ 3571. Termination of authority 4
‘‘(a) I
NGENERAL.—The authority to provide edu-5
cational assistance under this chapter shall terminate on 6
August 1, 2029. 7
‘‘(b) E
LIGIBILITY FORPOST-9/11 EDUCATIONALAS-8
SISTANCE.—An individual who is no longer eligible for 9
educational assistance under this chapter pursuant to sub-10
section (a) shall be entitled to educational assistance 11
under chapter 33 of this title in the same manner as if 12
the individual had elected to receive educational assistance 13
under section 3327 of this title, notwithstanding the re-14
strictions on crediting service under section 3322(h)(1) of 15
this title, but subject to the limitations under section 16
3327(d)(2) of this title.’’. 17
(b) C
LERICALAMENDMENT.—The table of sections 18
at the beginning of such chapter is amended by adding 19
at the end the following: 20
