A BILL 
To temporarily expand the supplemental nutrition assistance 
program income eligibility of households that include cer-
tain veterans. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Setting the Table for 4
Transition Act’’. 5
SEC. 2. TEMPORARY EXPANDED SNAP INCOME ELIGIBILITY 6
OF HOUSEHOLDS THAT INCLUDE CERTAIN 7
VETERANS. 8
For the purpose of determining income under the 9
Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 (7 U.S.C. 2011 et seq.) 10

during the 100-day period that begins on the date a vet-1
eran receives a Report of Separation (DD form 214) of 2
a household that includes a member who is a veteran, only 3
the income of such veteran shall be considered. 4
SEC. 3. DEFINITION. 5
For purposes of this Act, the term ‘‘veteran’’ means 6
an individual who served in the active military, naval, or 7
air service, and who was discharged or released therefrom 8
under conditions other than dishonorable. 9
SEC. 4. EFFECTIVE DATE. 10
This Act shall take effect 90 days after the date of 11
the enactment of this Act. 12
