2121 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Land And Social Secu-4
2222 rity Optimization Act’’ or ‘‘LASSO Act’’. 5
2323 SEC. 2. PUBLIC LAND REVENUE FOR SOCIAL SECURITY 6
2424 TRUST FUND. 7

2626 NGENERAL.—Notwithstanding any other law, 8
2727 each fiscal year, 10 percent of amounts collected by the 9

3434 into the Federal Old-Age and Survivors Trust Fund estab-4
3535 lished under section 201(a) of the Social Security Act (42 5
3636 U.S.C. 401(a)). 6

3838 ULES OFCONSTRUCTION.—Nothing in this Act 7
3939 shall be construed as— 8
4040 (1) authorizing the Secretary of the Interior or 9
4141 the Secretary of Agriculture to raise the price of any 10
4242 of the activities through which revenue is generated 11
4343 on covered public lands; or 12
4444 (2) reducing amounts made available to States, 13
4545 Indian Tribes, territories, or local governments from 14
4646 revenue generated by covered public lands. 15

4848 OVEREDPUBLICLANDSDEFINED.—In this 16
4949 Act, the term ‘‘covered public lands’’ means any land 17
5050 under the administrative jurisdiction— 18
5151 (1) of the Department of the Interior, including 19
5252 submerged lands on the Outer Continental Shelf (as 20
5353 such term is defined in section 2 of the Outer Conti-21
5454 nental Shelf Lands Act (43 U.S.C. 1331); or 22
5555 (2) the Forest Service. 23
