Urban Development to implement certain recommenda-
tions made by the Comptroller General with respect to
disaster recovery, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘The Disaster Recovery 4
Efficiency Act’’. 5

SEC. 2. IMPLEMENTATION OF GAO RECOMMENDATIONS. 1
The Administrator of the Federal Emergency Man-2
agement Agency and the Secretary of Housing and Urban 3
Development shall take such actions as may be necessary 4
to implement the priority recommendations of the Comp-5
troller General of the United States contained in the re-6
port published on November 15, 2022, and titled ‘‘Dis-7
aster Recovery: Actions Needed to Improve the Federal 8
Approach’’ (GAO–23–104956). 9
