Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1 tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2 2 •HR 836 EH SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 1 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Emergency Wildfire 2 Fighting Technology Act of 2025’’. 3 SEC. 2. CONTAINER AERIAL FIREFIGHTING SYSTEM 4 (CAFFS). 5 (a) E VALUATION.—Not later than 90 days after the 6 date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Agri-7 culture and the Secretary of the Interior, in consultation 8 with the National Interagency Aviation Committee and the 9 Interagency Airtanker Board, shall jointly conduct an 10 evaluation of the container aerial firefighting system to as-11 sess the use of such system to mitigate and suppress 12 wildfires. 13 (b) R EPORT.—Not later than 120 days after the date 14 of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Agriculture 15 and the Secretary of the Interior, in consultation with the 16 National Interagency Aviation Committee and the Inter-17 agency Airtanker Board, shall jointly submit to the appro-18 priate committees a report that includes the results of the 19 evaluation required under subsection (a). 20 (c) A PPROPRIATECOMMITTEESDEFINED.—In this 21 section, the term ‘‘appropriate committees’’ means— 22 (1) the Committees on Agriculture and Natural 23 Resources of the House of Representatives; and 24 3 •HR 836 EH (2) the Committees on Agriculture, Nutrition, 1 and Forestry and Energy and Natural Resources of 2 the Senate. 3 Passed the House of Representatives February 5, 2025.
