Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND AC-3
QUISITION RESTRICTION. 4
(a) I
NGENERAL.—Section 200305 of title 54, United 5
States Code, is amended by adding at the end the fol-6
lowing: 7

‘‘(l) ACQUISITIONRESTRICTION.—A State that re-1
ceives financial assistance from the Secretary under this 2
section may not use such financial assistance for the ac-3
quisition of land, water, or an interest in land or water 4
from a private landowner.’’. 5
(b) C
ONFORMINGAMENDMENT.—Section 200306(b) 6
of title 54, United States Code, is amended by inserting 7
‘‘Appropriations from the Fund may not be used for ac-8
quisition from a private landowner.’’ after ‘‘could be real-9
ized.’’. 10
