A BILL 
To amend section 230 of the Communications Act of 1934 
(commonly referred to as the Communications Decency 
Act) to stop censorship, and for other purposes. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Stop the Censorship 4
Act’’. 5
SEC. 2. REVOCATION OF IMMUNITIES. 6
Section 230(c) of the Communications Act of 1934 7
(47 U.S.C. 230(c)) is amended— 8

(1) in the heading, by striking ‘‘ANDSCREEN-1
ING OFOFFENSIVEMATERIAL’’ and inserting ‘‘OF 2

NLAWFUL OROBJECTIONABLEMATERIAL’’; and 3
(2) in paragraph (2)— 4
(A) in subparagraph (A)— 5
(i) by striking ‘‘material that the pro-6
vider or user considers to be obscene, lewd, 7
lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, 8
harassing, or otherwise objectionable, 9
whether or not such material is constitu-10
tionally protected’’ and inserting ‘‘unlawful 11
material’’; and 12
(ii) by striking ‘‘; or’’ and inserting a 13
semicolon; 14
(B) in subparagraph (B), by striking 15
‘‘paragraph (1).’’ and inserting ‘‘subparagraph 16
(A); or’’; and 17
(C) by adding at the end the following new 18
subparagraph: 19
‘‘(C) any action taken to provide users 20
with the option to restrict access to any other 21
material, whether or not such material is con-22
stitutionally protected.’’. 23
