15	15	Recognizing the critical importance of the United States
16	16	Special Operations Forces community and expressing
17	17	support for the designation of SOF Week.
18	18	Whereas Special Operations Forces (hereinafter referred to
19	19	as ‘‘SOF’’) encompass highly trained, specialized military
20	20	units within the Department of Defense, including the
21	21	Army Special Forces, Psychological Operations Units,
22	22	Civil Affairs Soldiers, 75th Ranger Regiment, the 160th
23	23	Aviation regiment (Night Stalkers), Navy SEALs, Spe-
24	24	cial Warfare Combatant-Craft Crewman, Air Force Spe-
25	25	cial Operations Aviators, Special Tactics Teams, Marine
26	26	Special Operations (Raiders), and other affiliated units,
27	27	which embody the highest standards of courage, resil-
28	28	ience, and professionalism;

32	32	Whereas the SOF community plays a vital role in defending
33	33	the United States national security interests and is re-
34	34	sponsible for conducting missions that require unique
35	35	skills, tactics, and equipment, including campaigning, un-
36	36	conventional warfare, counterterrorism, hostage rescue,
37	37	and direct action;
38	38	Whereas SOF personnel operate under the most challenging
39	39	and dangerous conditions and conduct military operations
40	40	in some of the harshest and most volatile environments
41	41	throughout the world;
42	42	Whereas SOF receive specialized training in advanced weap-
43	43	ons, language, demolitions, combat medicine, military
44	44	free-fall, and advanced combat tactics to ensure discrete,
45	45	precise, and scalable operations;
46	46	Whereas the United States must continue to invest in the
47	47	equipment, training, health, well-being, and transition of
48	48	SOF members to maintain readiness and honor their val-
49	49	iant service;
50	50	Whereas the families of SOF members carry a unique bur-
51	51	den, providing steadfast support amid frequent deploy-
52	52	ments, high operational tempo, and inherent risks; and
53	53	Whereas SOF Week, an annual conference for the inter-
54	54	national SOF community, will convene May 5 through
55	55	May 8, 2025: Now, therefore be it
56	56	Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives1
57	57	of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
58	58	That Congress— 3
59	59	(1) recognizes the critical importance of the 4
60	60	United States Special Operations Forces community 5
61	61	to the defense and security of the United States; 6
