1515 Recognizing the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, com-
1616 mending a month of fasting and spiritual renewal, and
1717 extending best wishes to Muslims in the United States
1818 and across the globe for a joyous and meaningful observ-
1919 ance of Eid al-Fitr.
2020 Whereas Ramadan is the holy month of fasting and spiritual
2121 renewal for Muslims worldwide;
2222 Whereas this month of sacrifice and contemplation began on
2323 February 28, 2025, based on the visual sightings of the
2424 crescent Moon;
2525 Whereas Muslims in the United States and around the world
2626 observe Ramadan by fasting, emphasizing self-discipline,

3030 worship, charity, and reading the Holy Quran to improve
3131 patience, humility, and spirituality;
3232 Whereas Ramadan continued until the celebration of Eid al-
3333 Fitr;
3434 Whereas Eid al-Fitr begins each year with the sighting of the
3535 new Moon, signifying a month-long end to fasting and re-
3636 flection for all Muslim followers;
3737 Whereas it is estimated that there are approximately
3838 1,900,000,000 Muslims worldwide;
3939 Whereas over 9,514 Muslims serve on active duty and over
4040 6,622 Muslims serve as selected reserve personnel in the
4141 United States Armed Forces;
4242 Whereas there are over 200 elected officials who identify as
4343 Muslim;
4444 Whereas it is estimated that there are 1,200,000 Muslim vot-
4545 ers in the United States;
4646 Whereas the Muslim population has been growing in the
4747 United States and today’s American Muslim population
4848 is a tapestry of ethnic, racial, linguistic, social, and eco-
4949 nomic groups;
5050 Whereas American Muslims have contributed to every part of
5151 society to make advancements in medicine, science, engi-
5252 neering, economics, sports, education, and the law; and
5353 Whereas the observance of the Muslim holy month of Rama-
5454 dan has concluded with Eid al-Fitr, a 3-day celebration:
5555 Now, therefore, be it
5656 Resolved, That the House of Representatives— 1
5757 (1) demonstrates solidarity with and support 2
5858 for members of the community of Islam in the 3
