1313 Expressing support for the designation of the week of April
1414 24–29, 2025, as ‘‘Small Businesses in For-Hire Trans-
1515 portation Week’’.
1616 Whereas small business in the for-hire transportation indus-
1717 try is made up of over 18,300 locally owned and operated
1818 companies in the United States;
1919 Whereas small business in the for-hire transportation indus-
2020 try employs 276,250 drivers and nearly a million other
2121 workers (mechanics, call center personnel, administrative
2222 staff, and management teams) in the United States;
2323 Whereas small business in the for-hire transportation indus-
2424 try employs a workforce that is approximately 50 percent
2525 minority in the United States;

2929 Whereas nonemergency medical transportation, taxicab, lim-
3030 ousine, livery, paratransit, and shuttle small businesses
3131 transport over 2,000,000,000 people annually in the
3232 United States;
3333 Whereas small businesses in the for-hire transportation in-
3434 dustry continue to be critical to helping small businesses,
3535 families, hospital personnel, patients, COVID patients,
3636 shut-ins, and working families, those in food deserts, and
3737 others through the transitions needed during COVID–19
3838 and the future variants;
3939 Whereas small businesses in the for-hire transportation in-
4040 dustry continue to be essential in providing public trans-
4141 portation to those in our communities who need it the
4242 most;
4343 Whereas the Transportation Alliance is a critical nonprofit
4444 organization that provides small business entrepreneurs
4545 with the support to build their own successful businesses
4646 in their local community through education, training, and
4747 mentoring opportunities;
4848 Whereas Congress should support riding local, as small busi-
4949 nesses are the economic drivers in every community and
5050 a healthy for-hire transportation industry benefits the
5151 local economy, creates more jobs, and keeps investment
5252 in the community; and
5353 Whereas small businesses in the for-hire transportation in-
5454 dustry continue to be a critical resource to local, State,
5555 and Federal agencies, providing necessary transportation
5656 options for every citizen: Now, therefore, be it
5757 Resolved, That the House of Representatives— 1
