1313 Expressing support for the designation of April 13, 2025,
1414 through April 26, 2025, as ‘‘National Young Audiences
1515 Arts for Learning Week’’.
1616 Whereas arts education, comprising a rich array of disciplines
1717 including dance, music, theater, media arts, literature,
1818 design, and visual arts, is an essential element of a com-
1919 plete and well-rounded education for all students;
2020 Whereas arts education enables students to develop critical
2121 thinking and problem-solving skills, imagination and cre-
2222 ativity, discipline, alternative ways to communicate and
2323 express feelings and ideas, and cross-cultural under-
2424 standing, which supports academic success nationwide as
2525 well as personal growth outside the classroom;
2626 Whereas arts education provides a well-researched and proven
2727 methodology to differentiate instruction to meet the

3333 Whereas the nonprofit arts sector is an economic engine and
3434 plays a significant role in the economic health of commu-
3535 nities large and small with direct expenditures of wages
3636 and benefits as well as goods and services;
3737 Whereas, to succeed in today’s economy, students must mas-
3838 terfully use words, images, sounds, and movement to
3939 communicate;
4040 Whereas Young Audiences Arts for Learning impacts over
4141 4,999,276 participants annually with valuable arts-in-
4242 education programs;
4343 Whereas Young Audiences Arts for Learning presents more
4444 than 87,170 arts-in-education programs to students and
4545 teachers;
4646 Whereas Young Audiences Arts for Learning works with
4747 55,335 school educators and teaching artists;
4848 Whereas Young Audiences Arts for Learning produces pro-
4949 grams in more than 4,170 schools and community cen-
5050 ters annually;
5151 Whereas Young Audiences Arts for Learning encompasses 30
5252 affiliates across the country, and the entire network of
5353 such affiliates is participating in the 2025 ‘‘National
5454 Young Audiences Arts for Learning Week’’;
5555 Whereas Young Audiences New York implemented over 200
5656 programs serving 22 partnering schools and institutions
5757 in all 5 boroughs of New York City, including 156 inte-
5858 grated residency programs steeped in arts learning and
5959 arts integration practices in such areas as music, dance,
6060 visual and design arts, theater, media arts and tech-
6161 nology in predominantly title I public school settings ex-

7373 Whereas Arkansas Learning through the Arts delivered 151
7474 arts-integrated programs to more than 6,722 students
7575 across the State of Arkansas;
7676 Whereas Arts for Arts & Learning Conservatory joined the
7777 national Young Audiences Arts for Learning network last
7878 year in 2024 impacting 3,800 students throughout
7979 Southern California;
8080 Whereas Arts Education Collaborative, Pittsburgh, Pennsyl-
8181 vania, delivered professional learning programs through-
8282 out western Pennsylvania;
8383 Whereas Arts for Learning Connecticut worked with 124,129
8484 students in the State of Connecticut last year in 2024;
8585 Whereas Arts for Learning Indiana engaged 153 collabo-
8686 rating partners to deliver arts-integrated programs to
8787 nearly 12,823 students in the State?;
8888 Whereas Arts for Learning Maryland partnered with nearly
8989 522 schools and community organizations in all 24 Mary-
9090 land school districts to provide arts learning programs to
9191 215,269 participants from prekindergarten through grade
9292 12;
9393 Whereas Arts for Learning Miami provided more than 65
9494 programs reaching youth from infancy through high

107107 Whereas ArtsNOW Learning in Atlanta, Georgia, partnered
108108 with 274 institutions throughout the Southeast United
109109 States involving over 31,088 participants;
110110 Whereas Center for Arts-Inspired Learning, in Cleveland,
111111 Ohio, provided nearly 6,689 programs for more than
112112 154,719 participants;
113113 Whereas Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education worked
114114 with 5,945 students in 60 Chicago Public Schools set-
115115 tings;
116116 Whereas Kansas City Young Audiences in Missouri, the larg-
117117 est nonprofit arts education provider in the region, served
118118 over 104,373 students;
119119 Whereas Springboard to Learning, in St. Louis, Missouri, de-
120120 livered 4,415 programs to students in schools and com-
121121 munity venues;
122122 Whereas Think 360 Arts for Learning, in Denver, Colorado,
123123 worked with more than 20,103 students across the State;
124124 Whereas Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsyl-
125125 vania provided programming to students throughout the
126126 region in collaboration with 600 schools and partnering
127127 organizations;

133133 Whereas Young Audiences of Houston provided over 327 pro-

135135 Whereas Young Audiences of Louisiana served more than
136136 33,017 learners including students, faculty and families
137137 at the Young Audiences Charter Schools in Jefferson and
138138 Orleans Parish;
139139 Whereas Arts for Learning Massachusetts reached approxi-
140140 mately 147,211 students in the State of Massachusetts;
141141 Whereas Young Audiences of Northeast Texas brought qual-
142142 ity arts in education experiences to nearly 64,814 learn-
143143 ers in northeast Texas;
144144 Whereas Young Audiences of Northern California impacted
145145 over 44,417 students in the Bay Area this past year in
146146 2024;
147147 Whereas Arts for Learning Northwest partnered with 167 in-
148148 stitutions to engage over 49,457 program participants
149149 across the region;
150150 Whereas Young Audiences of Southeast Texas partnered with
151151 schools throughout the region to deliver programming
152152 that integrates arts into all traditional areas of academic
153153 study to students in prekindergarten through grade 12;
154154 Whereas Young Audiences of Lubbock (Texas) joined the
155155 Young Audiences Arts for Learning national network in
156156 November 2022 and during its first year implemented 20
157157 programs in 19 schools; and
158158 Whereas April 13, 2025, through April 26, 2025, would be
159159 an appropriate period to designate as ‘‘National Young

165165 Resolved, That the House of Representatives— 1
166166 (1) supports the designation of ‘‘National 2
167167 Young Audiences Arts for Learning Week’’; 3
168168 (2) honors and recognizes the contributions 4
169169 which Young Audiences Arts for Learning programs 5
170170 have made in enriching the lives of students, teach-6
171171 ers, volunteers, families, and communities, and pays 7
172172 tribute to arts in education and its contribution to 8
173173 society; and 9
174174 (3) encourages the people of the United States 10
175175 to observe ‘‘National Young Audiences Arts for 11
176176 Learning Week’’ with appropriate ceremonies and 12
177177 activities that promote awareness of the role that 13
178178 arts in education plays in enriching the education of 14
179179 young people and enriching United States society as 15
