1919 Supporting the contributions of Catholic schools in the
2020 United States and celebrating the 51st annual ‘‘National
2121 Catholic Schools Week’’.
2222 Whereas Catholic schools in the United States are inter-
2323 nationally acclaimed for their academic excellence and
2424 provide approximately 1,700,000 students with more
2525 than an exceptional scholastic education;
2626 Whereas Catholic schools instill a broad, values-added edu-
2727 cation emphasizing the lifelong development of moral, in-
2828 tellectual, physical, and social values in young people in
2929 the United States;
3030 Whereas Catholic schools serve the United States by pro-
3131 viding a diverse student population from all regions of

3838 grounds, 15.5 percent from Hispanic heritage, and 21.8
3939 percent from non-Catholic families, according to the
4040 2024–2025 National Catholic Education Association sur-
4141 vey of elementary and secondary Catholic schools in the
4242 United States;
4343 Whereas Catholic schools are an affordable option for par-
4444 ents, particularly in underserved urban areas;
4545 Whereas Catholic schools produce students who are strongly
4646 dedicated to their faith, values, families, and communities
4747 by providing an intellectually stimulating environment
4848 that promotes spiritual, character, and moral develop-
4949 ment;
5050 Whereas Catholic schools are committed to community serv-
5151 ice, producing graduates who hold ‘‘helping others’’
5252 among their core values;
5353 Whereas the total Catholic school student enrollment for the
5454 2024–2025 academic year is 1,700,000, and the student-
5555 teacher ratio is 10 to 1, according to the 2024–2025 Na-
5656 tional Catholic Education Association survey of elemen-
5757 tary and secondary Catholic schools in the United States;
5858 Whereas the Catholic high school graduation rate is 98.9 per-
5959 cent, with 85.2 percent of graduates attending 4-year col-
6060 leges;
6161 Whereas the week of January 26, 2025, to February 1, 2025,
6262 has been designated as ‘‘National Catholic Schools
6363 Week’’ by the National Catholic Educational Association
6464 and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops;

6969 Whereas the theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2025
7070 is ‘‘Catholic Schools: United in Faith and Community’’,
7171 which reflects the fact that Catholic schools, united in
7272 their faith, expand beyond the walls of the classroom to
7373 envelop the parents and families of students as integral
7474 parts of the school community: Now, therefore, be it
7575 Resolved, That the House of Representatives— 1
7676 (1) supports the goals of National Catholic 2
7777 Schools Week, an event— 3
7878 (A) cosponsored by the National Catholic 4
7979 Educational Association and the United States 5
8080 Conference of Catholic Bishops; and 6
8181 (B) established to recognize the vital con-7
8282 tributions of the thousands of Catholic elemen-8
8383 tary and secondary schools in the United 9
8484 States; 10
8585 (2) applauds the National Catholic Educational 11
8686 Association and the United States Conference of 12
8787 Catholic Bishops on their selection of a theme that 13
8888 all can celebrate; and 14

9090 (A) the dedication of Catholic schools, stu-16
9191 dents, parents, and teachers across the United 17
