37 | 37 | | U.S.C. 2000d–1) is amended, in the third sentence— 14 |

38 | 38 | | (1) by redesignating paragraph (2) as para-15 |

39 | 39 | | graph (3); and 16 |
---|
40 | 40 | | (2) by inserting after ‘‘found,’’ the following: 17 |
---|
41 | 41 | | ‘‘(2) by requiring a recipient to repay the amount of 18 |
---|
42 | 42 | | any Federal financial assistance provided to the re-19 |
---|
43 | 43 | | cipient for a program or activity for a fiscal year 20 |
---|
44 | 44 | | during which the recipient is found (in accordance 21 |
---|
45 | 45 | | with the procedures described in paragraph (1)) to 22 |

58 | 58 | | U.S.C. 2000d–2) is amended— 6 |

59 | 59 | | (1) in the first sentence, by striking ‘‘Any’’ and 7 |
---|
60 | 60 | | inserting ‘‘(a) Any’’; and 8 |
---|
61 | 61 | | (2) by adding at the end the following: 9 |
---|
62 | 62 | | ‘‘(b) If a court issues an injunction in a case, for a 10 |
---|
63 | 63 | | claim in which a recipient of Federal financial assistance 11 |
---|
64 | 64 | | for a program or activity is alleged to be in violation of 12 |
---|
65 | 65 | | this title— 13 |
---|
66 | 66 | | ‘‘(1) the Federal department or agency empow-14 |
---|
67 | 67 | | ered to extend the Federal financial assistance shall 15 |
---|
68 | 68 | | not provide any Federal financial assistance to the 16 |
---|
69 | 69 | | recipient until the earlier of— 17 |
---|
70 | 70 | | ‘‘(A) the date on which the court certifies 18 |
---|
71 | 71 | | that the recipient is in compliance with the in-19 |
---|
72 | 72 | | junction; or 20 |
---|
73 | 73 | | ‘‘(B) the date that is 1 year after the date 21 |
---|
74 | 74 | | of issuance of the injunction; 22 |
---|
75 | 75 | | ‘‘(2) the Federal department or agency shall 23 |
---|
76 | 76 | | notify the other Federal departments and agencies 24 |
---|
77 | 77 | | covered by this title of the injunction; and 25 |
