1818 SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
1919 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Strengthening VA Pa-4
2020 tient Advocacy for Rural Veterans Act of 2025’’. 5

3434 LYRURALAREAS.—(1) The director of a medical center 6
3535 of the Department shall designate not fewer than one pa-7
3636 tient advocate to serve as the coordinator for veterans in 8
3737 rural and highly-rural areas served by that medical center 9
3838 who are receiving care through the broader network of 10
3939 care furnished by the Department through community- 11
4040 based outpatient clinics or the community care network. 12
4141 ‘‘(2) An individual designated under paragraph (1) 13
4242 shall carry out the functions of the patient advocate posi-14
4343 tion specific to supporting veterans in rural and highly- 15
4444 rural areas receiving care at locations outside of a medical 16
4545 center of the Department. 17
4646 ‘‘(3) To the maximum extent practicable, the director 18
4747 of a medical center shall designate existing staff of the 19
4848 medical center to carry out paragraph (1). 20

6363 mittee on Veterans’ Affairs of the Senate, the Committee 4
6464 on Veterans’ Affairs of the House of Representatives, and 5
6565 the Director of each Veterans Integrated Service Network 6

6767 tient Advocate Tracking System, or successor system. 8
6868 ‘‘(2) Each report required under paragraph (1) shall 9
6969 include de-identified data from the Patient Advocate 10
7070 Tracking System, or successor system, regarding— 11
7171 ‘‘(A) common issues reported; 12
7272 ‘‘(B) resolution times for such issues; 13
7373 ‘‘(C) resolution times for requests for informa-14
7474 tion; and 15
7575 ‘‘(D) compliments or complaints received under 16
