3535 NGENERAL.—The Secretary of Health and 8
3636 Human Services, in consultation with the Secretary of De-9
3737 fense and Secretary of Veterans Affairs, shall conduct an 10
3838 interagency review to evaluate the status of, and identify 11
3939 opportunities for the acceleration of research related to— 12
4040 (1) research on lung cancer in women; 13
4141 (2) research on lung cancer in underserved pop-14
4242 ulations that meet the eligibility criteria for lung 15
4343 cancer screening as recommended by the United 16
4444 States Preventive Services Task Force; 17
4545 (3) access to lung cancer preventive services; 18
4646 and 19
4747 (4) strategic public awareness and education 20
4848 campaigns on lung cancer. 21
4949 (b) C
5050 ONTENT.—The review and recommendations 22
5151 under subsection (a) shall include— 23
5252 (1) a review and comprehensive report on the 24
5353 outcomes of previous research, the status of existing 25
5454 research activities, and knowledge gaps related to 26

5959 in all agencies of the Federal Government; 2
6060 (2) opportunities for collaborative, interagency, 3
6161 multidisciplinary, and innovative research, that 4
6262 would— 5
6363 (A) encourage innovative approaches to 6
6464 eliminate knowledge gaps in research on lung 7
6565 cancer in women; 8
6666 (B) evaluate environmental and genomic 9
6767 factors that may be related to the etiology of 10
6868 lung cancer in women; and 11
6969 (C) foster advances in imaging technology 12
7070 and techniques to improve risk assessment, di-13
7171 agnosis, treatment, and the simultaneous utili-14
7272 zation of other preventive services and activi-15
7373 ties; 16
7474 (3) opportunities regarding the development of 17
7575 a national lung cancer screening strategy to expand 18
7676 access to such screenings, particularly among women 19
7777 and underserved populations; and 20
7878 (4) opportunities regarding the development of 21
7979 a national public education and awareness campaign 22
8080 on— 23
8181 (A) lung cancer in women and underserved 24
8282 populations; and 25

8989 EPORT.—Not later than 2 years after the date 3
9090 of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Health and 4
9191 Human Services shall submit to Congress a report on the 5
9292 review conducted under subsection (a). 6
