To rename the medical center of the Department of Veterans
Affairs in Dallas, Texas, as the ‘‘Eddie Bernice Johnson
VA Medical Center’’.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. FINDINGS. 3
Congress finds the following: 4
(1) Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson 5
served the veteran community diligently during her 6
16 years working as the Chief Psychiatric Nurse of 7
the medical center of the Department of Veterans 8
Affairs in Dallas, Texas. 9

(2) Throughout her 30 years in Congress, Con-1
gresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson introduced nu-2
merous bills that sought to honor and serve the pa-3
triots who so nobly served their country. 4
(3) Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson in-5
troduced, and won passage of, the Dr. James Allen 6
Veteran Vision Equity Act of 2007 (Public Law 7
110–157; 38 U.S.C. 101 note), which assists those 8
wounded in service in the Armed Forces in receiving 9
the treatment they need, and increases the dignity 10
shown to those who gave their last full measure of 11
devotion to the country that they served. 12
(4) Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson was 13
a trailblazer who worked tirelessly on behalf of vet-14
erans in the United States and has earned the re-15
spect and honor of her native city of Dallas, Texas, 16
the State of Texas, the United States, and Congress. 17
SEC. 2. DESIGNATION OF EDDIE BERNICE JOHNSON VA 18
MEDICAL CENTER. 19
(a) D
ESIGNATION.—The medical center of the De-20
partment of Veterans Affairs located at 4500 South Lan-21
caster Road, Dallas, Texas, shall after the date of the en-22
actment of this Act be known and designated as the 23
‘‘Eddie Bernice Johnson Department of Veterans Affairs 24

EFERENCE.—Any reference in any law, regula-3
tion, map, document, paper, or other record of the United 4
States to the medical center referred to in subsection (a) 5
shall be considered to be a reference to the Eddie Bernice 6
Johnson VA Medical Center. 7
