16	16	To amend the Federal Crop Insurance Act and the Federal
17	17	Agriculture Improvement and Reform Act of 1996 to
18	18	make the native sod provisions applicable to the United
19	19	States and to modify those provisions, and for other
20	20	purposes.
21	21	Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
22	22	tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
23	23	SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
24	24	This Act may be cited as the ‘‘American Prairie Con-4
25	25	servation Act’’. 5

31	31	EDERALCROPINSURANCE.—Section 508(o) of 2
32	32	the Federal Crop Insurance Act (7 U.S.C. 1508(o)) is 3
33	33	amended by striking paragraph (3) and inserting the fol-4
34	34	lowing: 5
35	35	‘‘(3) N
36	36	ATIVE SOD CONVERSION CERTIFI -6
37	37	CATION.— 7
38	38	‘‘(A) C
39	39	ERTIFICATION.—As a condition on 8
40	40	the receipt of benefits under this subtitle, a pro-9
41	41	ducer that has tilled native sod acreage for the 10
42	42	production of an insurable crop as described in 11
43	43	paragraph (2)(A) shall certify that acreage to 12
44	44	the Secretary using— 13
45	45	‘‘(i) an acreage report form of the 14
46	46	Farm Service Agency (FSA–578 or any 15
47	47	successor form); and 16
48	48	‘‘(ii) 1 or more maps. 17
49	49	‘‘(B) C
50	50	ORRECTIONS.—Beginning on the 18
51	51	date on which a producer submits a certifi-19
52	52	cation under subparagraph (A), as soon as 20
53	53	practicable after the producer discovers a 21
54	54	change in tilled native sod acreage described in 22
55	55	that subparagraph, the producer shall submit to 23
56	56	the Secretary any appropriate corrections to a 24
57	57	form or map described in clause (i) or (ii) of 25
58	58	that subparagraph. 26

62	62	‘‘(C) ANNUAL REPORTS.—Not later than 1
63	63	January 1, 2026, and each January 1 there-2
64	64	after through January 1, 2030, the Secretary 3
65	65	shall submit to the Committee on Agriculture, 4
66	66	Nutrition, and Forestry of the Senate and the 5
67	67	Committee on Agriculture of the House of Rep-6
68	68	resentatives a report that describes the tilled 7
69	69	native sod acreage that has been certified under 8
70	70	subparagraph (A) in each county and State as 9
71	71	of the date of submission of the report.’’. 10

74	74	Section 196(a)(4) of the Federal Agriculture Improvement 12
75	75	and Reform Act of 1996 (7 U.S.C. 7333(a)(4)) is amend-13
76	76	ed by striking subparagraph (C) and inserting the fol-14
77	77	lowing: 15
78	78	‘‘(C) N

80	80	CATION.— 17
81	81	‘‘(i) C
82	82	ERTIFICATION.—As a condition 18

107	107	NNUAL REPORTS .—Not later 14
108	108	than January 1, 2026, and each January 15
109	109	1 thereafter through January 1, 2030, the 16
110	110	Secretary shall submit to the Committee 17
111	111	on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry of 18
112	112	the Senate and the Committee on Agri-19
113	113	culture of the House of Representatives a 20
114	114	report that describes the tilled native sod 21
115	115	acreage that has been certified under 22
116	116	clause (i) in each county and State as of 23
117	117	the date of submission of the report.’’. 24
