To amend the Tennessee Valley Authority Act of 1933 to
provide that the Federal Reports Elimination and Sunset
Act of 1995 does not apply to certain reports required
to be submitted by the Tennessee Valley Authority, and
for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Tennessee Valley Au-4
thority Salary Transparency Act’’. 5

SEC. 2. SALARY DISCLOSURE; EXCEPTION TO REPORT 1
ELIMINATION. 2
(a) I
NGENERAL.—Section 9 of the Tennessee Valley 3
Authority Act of 1933 (16 U.S.C. 831h) is amended— 4
(1) by striking the section designation and all 5
that follows through ‘‘(a) The Board’’ in subsection 6
(a) and inserting the following: 7
‘‘SEC. 9. FINANCIAL REPORTING. 8
‘‘(a) R
EPORT ONCOMPENSATION.— 9
‘‘(1) I
N GENERAL.—Except as provided in para-10
graph (2), the Board’’; 11
(2) in subsection (a)— 12
(A) in paragraph (1) (as so designated), by 13
striking ‘‘a financial statement’’ in the first 14
sentence and all that follows through the period 15
at the end of the second sentence and inserting 16
‘‘a report describing the total number of em-17
ployees of the Corporation at the management 18
level or above (including all executives and 19
Board members), including the name, salary, 20
and duties of each such employee, that are re-21
ceiving compensation equal to, or greater than, 22
the maximum rate of basic pay for grade GS– 23
15 of the General Schedule.’’; and 24
(B) by adding at the end the following: 25

‘‘(2) EXEMPTION.—Any information relating to 1
salaries of employees of the Corporation contained 2
in, or filed with, a report under paragraph (1) shall 3
be exempt from— 4
‘‘(A) disclosure under section 552(b)(3) of 5
title 5, United States Code; and 6
‘‘(B) the requirements of the Access to 7
Congressionally Mandated Reports Act (44 8
U.S.C. prec. 4101 note; Public Law 117– 9
263).’’; 10
(3) in subsection (b), by striking ‘‘(b) All’’ and 11
inserting the following: 12
‘‘(b) B

(b) C
ONFORMINGAMENDMENT.—Section 14 of the 12
Tennessee Valley Authority Act of 1933 (16 U.S.C. 831m) 13
is amended, in the last sentence, by striking ‘‘and in addi-14
tion to the statement of the cost of power’’ and all that 15
follows through ‘‘for the sale of power’’. 16
