3232 VELOPMENT AND ENGAGEMENT.—Section 138(b) of title 8
3333 10, United States Code, is amended— 9
3434 (1) by redesignating paragraphs (7) and (8) as 10
3535 paragraphs (8) and (9), respectively; and 11
3636 (2) by inserting after paragraph (6) the fol-12
3737 lowing new paragraph (7): 13
3838 ‘‘(7) One of the Assistant Secretaries is the Assistant 14
3939 Secretary of Defense for International Industrial Base De-15
4040 velopment and Engagement, who shall report directly to 16
4141 the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and 17
4242 Sustainment. The principal duty of the Assistant Sec-18
4343 retary shall be to strengthen the United States defense 19
4444 industrial base through the promotion of cooperation with 20
4545 security partners and allies of the United States, including 21
