A BILL
To direct the Joint Committee of Congress on the Library
to procure a statue of Benjamin Franklin for placement
in the United States Capitol.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. PROCUREMENT AND PLACEMENT OF STATUE 3
OF BENJAMIN FRANKLIN IN THE UNITED 4
STATES CAPITOL. 5
(a) O
BTAINING OFSTATUE.—Not later than Decem-6
ber 31, 2025, the Joint Committee of Congress on the Li-7
brary (referred to in this section as the ‘‘Joint Com-8
mittee’’) shall enter into an agreement to obtain a statue 9

of Benjamin Franklin, under such terms and conditions 1
as the Joint Committee considers appropriate consistent 2
with applicable law. 3
(b) P
LACEMENT.—Not later than December 31, 4
2026, the Joint Committee shall place the statue obtained 5
under subsection (a) in a suitable permanent location in 6
the United States Capitol where the statue is accessible 7
to the public during a guided tour of the Capitol provided 8
by the Office of the Capitol Visitor Center. 9
