2323 This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Network Equipment 4
2424 Transparency Act’’ or the ‘‘NET Act’’. 5

3030 (a) I
3131 NGENERAL.—Section 13(b) of the Communica-3
3232 tions Act of 1934 (47 U.S.C. 163(b)) is amended— 4
3333 (1) by redesignating paragraphs (3), (4), and 5
3434 (5) as paragraphs (4), (5), and (6), respectively; and 6
3535 (2) by inserting after paragraph (2) the fol-7
3636 lowing: 8
3737 ‘‘(3) assess, to the extent that data is available 9
3838 to the Commission, how the availability of network 10
3939 equipment may have impacted the deployment of ad-11
4040 vanced telecommunications capability during the ap-12
4141 plicable reporting period;’’. 13

4343 ULE OF CONSTRUCTION.—Nothing in the 14
4444 amendments made by subsection (a) shall be construed to 15
4545 require any provider of advanced telecommunications ca-16
4646 pability to provide the Federal Communications Commis-17
4747 sion more information than was required for the purpose 18
4848 of section 13 of the Communications Act of 1934 (47 19
4949 U.S.C. 163) as in effect on the day before the date of 20
5050 enactment of this Act. 21
