To require the Secretary of Health and Human Services
and the Secretary of Labor to conduct a study and
issue a report on grant programs to support the nursing
workforce.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE. 3
This Act may be cited as the ‘‘Train More Nurses 4
Act’’. 5

SEC. 2. REVIEW OF AND REPORT ON PROGRAMS SUP-1
PORTING THE NURSING WORKFORCE. 2
The Secretary of Health and Human Services and the 3
Secretary of Labor, jointly, shall— 4
(1) conduct a review of all grant programs car-5
ried out by the Department of Health and Human 6
Services or the Department of Labor that support 7
the nurse workforce; and 8
(2) not later than 1 year after the date of en-9
actment of this Act, submit to Congress a report on 10
the review under paragraph (1) that includes rec-11
ommendations for changes to such grant programs 12
to improve upon the goals of— 13
(A) increasing nurse faculty, particularly 14
in underserved areas; 15
(B) providing pathways for nurses who 16
have more than 10 years of clinical experience 17
to become faculty at schools of nursing; and 18
(C) encouraging and increasing the nurs-19
ing pipeline through pathways for licensed prac-20
tical nurses to become registered nurses. 21
