To designate the General George C. Marshall House, in
the Commonwealth of Virginia, as an affiliated area of
the National Park System, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-1
tives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, 2
SECTION 1. ESTABLISHMENT OF THE GENERAL GEORGE C. 3
MARSHALL HOUSE AS AN AFFILIATED AREA. 4
(a) I
NGENERAL.—The General George C. Marshall 5
House in the Commonwealth of Virginia is established as 6
an affiliated area of the National Park System (referred 7
to in this section as the ‘‘affiliated area’’) to promote pub-8
lic appreciation of the significant historic contributions 9

made by United States military leader and statesman 1

(b) D
ESCRIPTION OFAFFILIATEDAREA.—The affili-3
ated area shall consist of the area generally depicted as 4
the ‘‘General George C. Marshall House Property, Lees-5
burg, Virginia’’ on the map entitled ‘‘General George C. 6
Marshall House, Proposed Affiliated Area’’, numbered 7
999/189,974, and dated September 2023. 8
(c) A
DMINISTRATION.—The affiliated area shall be 9
managed in a manner consistent with— 10
(1) this section; and 11
(2) any law generally applicable to units of the 12
National Park System. 13
(d) M
ANAGEMENTENTITY.—The George C. Marshall 14
International Center shall be the management entity for 15
the affiliated area. 16
(e) A
GREEMENTS.—The Secretary of the Interior (re-17
ferred to in this section as the ‘‘Secretary’’)— 18
(1) may provide technical assistance and enter 19
into cooperative agreements with the management 20
entity designated by subsection (d) for the purpose 21
of providing financial assistance for the marketing, 22
marking, interpretation, and preservation of the af-23
filiated area; and 24

(2) shall enter into an agreement with the man-1
agement entity designated by subsection (d) that de-2
scribes the roles and responsibilities for the manage-3
ment of the affiliated area consistent with the poli-4
cies and standards that apply to units of the Na-5
tional Park System. 6
(f) L
IMITEDROLE OF THESECRETARY.—Nothing in 7
this section authorizes the Secretary— 8
(1) to acquire property at the affiliated area; or 9
(2) to assume overall financial responsibility for 10
the operation, maintenance, or management of the 11
affiliated area. 12
