31 | 31 | | NGENERAL.—Section 8904 of title 5, United 2 |

36 | 36 | | ‘‘(G) Fertility treatment benefits.’’; and 7 |

38 | 38 | | (i) by redesignating subparagraph (F) 9 |

39 | 39 | | as subparagraph (G); and 10 |

40 | 40 | | (ii) by inserting after subparagraph 11 |

42 | 42 | | ‘‘(F) Fertility treatment benefits.’’; and 13 |

44 | 44 | | ‘‘(c) In this section, the term ‘fertility treatment’ in-15 |

45 | 45 | | cludes the following: 16 |
---|
46 | 46 | | ‘‘(1) Preservation of human oocytes, sperm, or 17 |
---|
47 | 47 | | embryos for later reproductive use. 18 |
---|
48 | 48 | | ‘‘(2) Artificial insemination, including 19 |
---|
49 | 49 | | intravaginal insemination, intracervical insemination, 20 |
---|
50 | 50 | | and intrauterine insemination. 21 |
---|
51 | 51 | | ‘‘(3) Assisted reproductive technology, including 22 |
---|
52 | 52 | | in vitro fertilization and other treatments or proce-23 |
---|
53 | 53 | | dures in which reproductive genetic material, such as 24 |
---|
54 | 54 | | oocytes, sperm, fertilized eggs, and embryos, are 25 |
---|
55 | 55 | | handled, when clinically appropriate. 26 |
