38 | 38 | | OVERED PROBATIONARY EMPLOYEE .—The 8 |

39 | 39 | | term ‘‘covered probationary employee’’ means an in-9 |
---|
40 | 40 | | dividual who— 10 |
---|
41 | 41 | | (A) is, or was, involuntarily separated from 11 |
---|
42 | 42 | | Government service during the period beginning 12 |
---|
43 | 43 | | on January 20, 2025, and ending on the date 13 |
---|
44 | 44 | | described in subsection (c); and 14 |
---|
45 | 45 | | (B) immediately before the involuntary 15 |
---|
46 | 46 | | separation described in subparagraph (A), occu-16 |
---|
47 | 47 | | pied a position in an Executive agency under 17 |
---|
48 | 48 | | which the individual served a probationary or 18 |
---|
49 | 49 | | trial period under an initial appointment. 19 |

51 | 51 | | XECUTIVE AGENCY.—The term ‘‘Executive 20 |

52 | 52 | | agency’’ has the meaning given the term in section 21 |

73 | 73 | | withstanding any other provision of law, the duration of 11 |

74 | 74 | | the probationary or trial period for a covered appointment 12 |

75 | 75 | | of a covered probationary employee to become final shall 13 |
---|
76 | 76 | | be equal to the difference between— 14 |
---|
77 | 77 | | (1) the duration of that probationary or trial 15 |
---|
78 | 78 | | period that, but for this Act, would apply to that 16 |
---|
79 | 79 | | covered appointment; and 17 |

80 | 80 | | (2) the duration of the probationary or trial pe-18 |

81 | 81 | | riod that the covered probationary employee served 19 |

82 | 82 | | in the previous Federal position of that covered pro-20 |
