16 | 16 | | Whereas ‘‘National Youth HIV/AIDS Awareness Day’’ is a |

17 | 17 | | nationwide observance that calls on people to take action |
---|
18 | 18 | | to invest in the health, education, and leadership of |

19 | 19 | | young people; |
---|
20 | 20 | | Whereas, more than 40 years into the epidemic, the Centers |

21 | 21 | | for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that in the |
---|
22 | 22 | | United States more than 1,189,700 people are living with |
---|
23 | 23 | | HIV, and 30,635 people were diagnosed with HIV in the |
---|
24 | 24 | | United States in 2020; |

25 | 25 | | Whereas, in 2020, youth aged 13 to 24 years composed 20 |

26 | 26 | | percent of all new HIV diagnoses in the United States; |
