15 | 15 | | Whereas, 30 years ago, on Wednesday morning, April 19, |

16 | 16 | | 1995, at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Okla- |
---|
17 | 17 | | homa City, Oklahoma, the United States was brutally at- |
---|
18 | 18 | | tacked in the deadliest domestic terrorist attack in the |
---|
19 | 19 | | Nation’s history, which killed 168 people, including 19 |
---|
20 | 20 | | children, and injured more than 850 others, leaving an |
---|
21 | 21 | | ineffaceable mark on the Nation; |
---|
22 | 22 | | Whereas the horror of the attack devastated hundreds of |
---|
23 | 23 | | families and left an enduring impact on the Oklahoma |
---|
24 | 24 | | community and the United States, demonstrating the |
---|
25 | 25 | | devastating consequences of violent acts of terror; |

26 | 26 | | Whereas the people of the United States still remember and |

27 | 27 | | mourn those who lost their lives on April 19, 1995, en- |

44 | 44 | | effort by local, State, Tribal, and Federal law enforce- |

45 | 45 | | ment, firefighters, emergency services, search and rescue |

46 | 46 | | teams, and selfless volunteers from all over the United |

47 | 47 | | States who saved lives, assisted the survivors, comforted |

48 | 48 | | the bereaved, and provided any and all support that was |

49 | 49 | | needed, including to those who came to Oklahoma City |

50 | 50 | | to aid those affected by the horrific attack, showcasing |

51 | 51 | | the resilience of the American spirit; |

52 | 52 | | Whereas, though faced with adversity and overwhelming chal- |

53 | 53 | | lenges, courageous men and women demonstrated im- |

54 | 54 | | mense resilience that became the foundation upon which |

55 | 55 | | the beautiful story of the strength and hope of Oklahoma |
