1414 Congratulating the Washington University in St. Louis Bears
1515 women’s soccer team for winning the 2024 NCAA Divi-
1616 sion III Women’s Soccer Championship.
1717 Whereas, on December 8, 2024, the Washington University
1818 in St. Louis Bears women’s soccer team (referred to in
1919 this preamble as the ‘‘Bears’’) defeated the nationally
2020 ranked William Smith Herons, 3 to 0, to win the 2024
2121 NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship;
2222 Whereas the Bears demonstrated extraordinary teamwork,
2323 skill, and hard work throughout this victory and the en-
2424 tire season;
2525 Whereas the Bears attained a 23–0–2 record during this sea-
2626 son;

3030 Whereas the Bears achieved the top ranking in the 2024
3131 NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer season;
3232 Whereas the coaching staff led by head coach Jim Conlon
3333 provided outstanding leadership and strategy, contrib-
3434 uting significantly to the victories throughout the season,
3535 culminating with the end-of-year victory in the 2024
3636 NCAA Division III Women’s Soccer Championship;
3737 Whereas Olivia Clemons was named Offensive Player of the
3838 Year, Rookie of the Year, and All-Tournament Offensive
3939 Player, finishing the season with an impressive 22 goals
4040 and 6 assists;
4141 Whereas head coach Jim Conlon and assistant coaches Bran-
4242 don Santel, Amanda Kesler, and Katharine Zaber were
4343 named Coaching Staff of the Year;
4444 Whereas 4 players earned First-Team honors, 2 players
4545 earned honorable mention nods, and 4 players were se-
4646 lected to the All-Tournament Team; and
4747 Whereas fans of the Bears demonstrated enthusiasm and loy-
4848 alty in supporting their team throughout the 2024 NCAA
4949 Division III soccer season: Now, therefore, be it
5050 Resolved, That the Senate— 1

5252 Louis Bears women’s soccer team on winning the 3
5353 2024 Division III Women’s Soccer Championship; 4
5454 (2) recognizes the achievements, contributions, 5
