1313 Honoring the 100th anniversary of Nellie Tayloe Ross be-
1414 coming the first female elected as the Governor of a
1515 State in the United States.
1616 Whereas, in 1925, Nellie Tayloe Ross (referred to in this pre-
1717 amble as ‘‘Governor Ross’’), a pioneering figure in
1818 United States politics who made significant contributions
1919 to the advancement of women in leadership and public
2020 service, achieved the historic distinction of being the first
2121 female elected as the Governor of a State in the United
2222 States;
2323 Whereas, on January 5, 1925, Governor Ross was inaugu-
2424 rated as the 14th Governor of Wyoming, a momentous
2525 event in the political history of the United States that
2626 not only marked a major milestone for the rights and em-

3232 Whereas, during her tenure, Governor Ross demonstrated ex-

3535 people of the State of Wyoming, embodying a steadfast
3636 commitment to public service and the betterment of the

3838 Whereas the groundbreaking leadership of Governor Ross
3939 represented the principles of progress and innovation,
4040 serving as a symbol of determination, resilience, and the
4141 tireless spirit of women in the State of Wyoming and the
4242 United States; and
4343 Whereas the Senate, recognizing the profound impact of the
4444 legacy of Governor Ross, honors and celebrates the en-
4545 during influence of the achievements of Governor Ross,
4646 which continue to inspire generations of women to
4747 achieve leadership roles in all levels of government: Now,
4848 therefore, be it
