36	36	Expressing gratitude to the Joint Congressional Committee
37	37	on Inaugural Ceremonies, the Architect of the Capitol,
38	38	the Sergeant at Arms, the Secretary of the Senate, law
39	39	enforcement officers, emergency personnel, and volun-
40	40	teers for their support in making the Presidential Inau-
41	41	guration a success.

45	45	Whereas, on January 20, 2025, the inauguration of the 47th
46	46	President of the United States, President Donald J.
47	47	Trump (referred to in this preamble as the ‘‘Presidential
48	48	Inauguration’’), took place under unique and challenging
49	49	circumstances, requiring the relocation of certain events
50	50	indoors due to unseasonably cold weather;
51	51	Whereas, during the Presidential Inauguration, the Joint
52	52	Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, the
53	53	Architect of the Capitol, the Sergeant at Arms, the Sec-
54	54	retary of the Senate, law enforcement officers, emergency
55	55	personnel, and volunteers displayed exceptional dedication
56	56	and professionalism in adapting to unforeseen challenges
57	57	to guarantee the safety, security, and smooth operation
58	58	of all inaugural events;
59	59	Whereas the tireless efforts of the Joint Congressional Com-
60	60	mittee on Inaugural Ceremonies, the Architect of the
61	61	Capitol, the Sergeant at Arms, the Secretary of the Sen-
62	62	ate, law enforcement officers, emergency personnel, and
63	63	volunteers during the Presidential Inauguration facili-
64	64	tated a historic and dignified transfer of power, reflecting
65	65	the best traditions of the United States;
66	66	Whereas the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural
67	67	Ceremonies, the Architect of the Capitol, the Sergeant at
68	68	Arms, and the Secretary of the Senate spent years plan-
69	69	ning and preparing for the events of the Presidential In-
70	70	auguration and executed that plan flawlessly, even with
71	71	unforeseen challenges;
72	72	Whereas the cold weather during the Presidential Inaugura-
73	73	tion presented additional logistical and operational dif-
74	74	ficulties, which were overcome through extraordinary
75	75	commitment and teamwork; and

79	79	Whereas the vigilance and preparedness of the Joint Congres-
80	80	sional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, the Architect
81	81	of the Capitol, the Sergeant at Arms, the Secretary of
82	82	the Senate, law enforcement officers, emergency per-
83	83	sonnel, and volunteers allowed attendees of the Presi-
84	84	dential Inauguration to celebrate the momentous occasion
85	85	in a safe and secure environment: Now, therefore, be it
86	86	Resolved, That the Senate— 1
87	87	(1) expresses its profound gratitude to the 2
88	88	Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Cere-3
89	89	monies, the Architect of the Capitol, the Sergeant at 4
90	90	Arms, the Secretary of the Senate, law enforcement 5
91	91	officers, emergency personnel, and volunteers whose 6
92	92	hard work and dedication made the inauguration of 7
93	93	President Donald J. Trump on January 20, 2025 8
94	94	(referred to in this resolution as the ‘‘Presidential 9
95	95	Inauguration’’), a resounding success; 10
96	96	(2) commends the professionalism and resilience 11
97	97	of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural 12
98	98	Ceremonies, the Architect of the Capitol, the Ser-13
99	99	geant at Arms, the Secretary of the Senate, law en-14
100	100	forcement officers, emergency personnel, and volun-15
101	101	teers in adapting to the unexpected challenges posed 16
102	102	by the cold weather and the relocation of events dur-17
103	103	ing the Presidential Inauguration; 18
104	104	(3) recognizes the invaluable hard work of the 19
