1414 9 This bill addresses the use of public money by certain entities involved with the
1515 10Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

3131 26Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
3232 27 Section 1. Section 63G-28-101 is enacted to read:

3535 28 CHAPTER 28. OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC WINTER GAMES ACT
3636 29 Part 1. General Provisions
3737 30 63G-28-101. Definitions.
3838 31 As used in this chapter:
3939 32 (1) "Games" means the 2030 or 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
4040 33 (2) "Host agreement" means an agreement with a site selection committee that is made
4141 34in connection with the selection of the state for the location of the games.
4242 35 (3) "Host committee" means a nonprofit corporation, including a successor in interest,
4343 36that may:
4444 37 (a) provide an application and bid to a site selection committee for selection of the state
4545 38as the location of the games; and
4646 39 (b) execute an agreement with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee
4747 40regarding a bid and the bid process to host the games.
4848 41 (4) "Public money" means the same as that term is defined in Section 76-1-101.5.
4949 42 (5) "Site selection committee" means the International Olympic Committee or the
5050 43International Paralympic Committee.
5151 44 Section 2. Section 63G-28-201 is enacted to read:

5353 46 63G-28-201. Host agreement and host committee agreement requirements.
5454 47 Before signing a host agreement or an agreement with a host committee, the governor
5555 48shall ensure the agreement includes:
5656 49 (1) terms prohibiting the site selection committee or the host committee from using
5757 50public money:
5858 51 (a) to provide a gift with a value of over $300 to another person;
5959 52 (b) to make a political campaign contribution;
6060 53 (c) for the personal expenses of another person; or
6161 54 (d) for other purposes unrelated to the games;
6262 55 (2) a requirement that the site selection committee or host committee provide to the
6363 56state upon request an itemized accounting of the public money provided to the site selection
6464 57committee or host committee; and
