5454 Section 1. Section 53F-5-224 is enacted to read:

6060 (a) "Pilot program" means the Veterans Day School Assembly Pilot Program created in

6464 (b) "Veteran" means an individual who has served on active duty in the armed forces of

6868 (2)(a) There is created a three-year pilot program, known as the Veterans Day School

7070 Assembly Pilot Program, to reimburse schools for holding assemblies to honor

7272 veterans during the week of Veterans Day.

7474 (b) Within appropriations made by the Legislature for the pilot program, the state board

7676 shall administer the pilot program and award reimbursement in accordance with the
