1521 WHEREAS, in June 2024, the Glenvar High School girls' soccer team won the Virginia High School League Class 2 state championship in a tense, defensive struggle that went to double overtime and penalty kicks; and

1723 WHEREAS, with the score level at 00 after the end of regulation and two periods of overtime, the Glenvar High School Highlanders defeated the Clarke County High School Eagles 43 in a penalty shootout; and

1925 WHEREAS, senior midfielder Campbell Hardin, freshman midfielder Sawyer Wilson, and senior defender Megan Pomerleau gave the Glenvar Highlanders three goals, while freshman goalie Madelaine Frackelton forced two misses and scored the game-winning goal; and

2127 WHEREAS, the successful season was a tribute to the skill and determination of all the student-athletes, the leadership and guidance of coaches and staff, and the passionate support of family members, friends, and the entire Glenvar High School community; now, therefore, be it

2329 RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Glenvar High School girls' soccer team on winning the Virginia High School League Class 2 state championship in 2024; and, be it

2531 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Kyleigh Drew, head coach of the Glenvar High School girls' soccer team, as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's athletic achievements.
