HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 439
Commending the Glenvar High School boys' soccer team.

WHEREAS, in 2024, the Glenvar High School boys' soccer team earned its second consecutive state title with a victory in the Virginia High School League Class 2 state championship; and
WHEREAS, the Glenvar High School Highlanders defeated the Radford High School Bobcats by a score of 10, with senior forward Bryce King scoring the lone goal of the match in the first half; and
WHEREAS, throughout the season, the Glenvar Highlanders emphasized good discipline and a commitment to the fundamentals of the game, focusing on possession, a sound defense, and well-executed set pieces; and
WHEREAS, the victory was a tribute to the skill and perseverance of all the student-athletes, the leadership and guidance of coaches and staff, and the passionate support of family members, friends, and the entire Glenvar High School community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Glenvar High School boys' soccer team on winning the Virginia High School League Class 2 state championship in 2024; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Josh Jones, head coach of the Glenvar High School boys' soccer team, as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the team's athletic achievements.
