1519 WHEREAS, William David Dolan III of Falls Church, a distinguished trial attorney who had a long-lasting impact on the legal profession in Northern Virginia through his visionary leadership and commitment to excellence, died on May 28, 2024; and

17-WHEREAS, a native of Washington, D.C., William Bill David Dolan III earned a bachelor's degree from Marquette University and a law degree from The Catholic University of America, then began his career as an attorney in private practice; and

1923 WHEREAS, Bill Dolan was known both for his tenacious representation of his clients and his unwavering commitment to civility and grace; he earned the admiration of judges and juries for his professionalism, expertise, and humility; and

2125 WHEREAS, Bill Dolan provided his exceptional leadership to the Virginia State Bar as president and made transformative contributions to the Committee on Women and Minorities in the Profession, the mandatory Professionalism Course, and the Advisory Committee on Rules of Court of the Virginia Supreme Court; and

2327 WHEREAS, Bill Dolan became known as a lawyer's lawyer who represented law firms and other attorneys while promoting the importance of continuing education and cultivating high standards in the legal profession; he was proudly selected as a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers in recognition of his legal acumen and legacy of accomplishments; and

2529 WHEREAS, Bill Dolan also served on the Virginia State Board for Community Colleges, the Arlington Community Foundation, the Arlington County Consumer Protection Commission, and the Arlington County Emergency Medical Services Council, in addition to his work as a director of Arlington Hospital, now Virginia Hospital Center, and as an adjunct associate professor at Georgetown University School of Medicine; and

2731 WHEREAS, Bill Dolan will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his children, Kathleen and Tom, and their families; his loving partner, Jean Statler; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

2933 RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of William David Dolan III, a highly respected trial attorney in Northern Virginia; and, be it
