1519 WHEREAS, Tammy Mann, Ph.D., an esteemed nonprofit executive and community leader, will retire from her role as president and chief executive officer of the Campagna Center in Alexandria on April 30, 2025; and

1721 WHEREAS, Tammy Mann holds a bachelor's degree from Spelman College and a master's degree and doctorate in clinical psychology, with a specialization in infant studies, from Michigan State University; she has served as a public policy fellow with the American Psychological Association and held adjunct and affiliate appointments at Howard University and George Mason University, respectively; and

1923 WHEREAS, Tammy Mann has been a valued leader at the local, state, and national level over a nearly 35-year career dedicated to the well-being of children and their families; she served as executive director of the Frederick D. Patterson Research Institute and as deputy executive director of Zero to Three, among other roles, before joining the Campagna Center in 2011; and

2125 WHEREAS, as the president and chief executive officer of the Campagna Center, Tammy Mann oversaw one of Alexandria's oldest and most established nonprofits, which annually supports more than 2,000 children and families through various educational and social development programs; and

2327 WHEREAS, Tammy Mann contributed to the growth and development of the Campagna Center over her tenure through a number of initiatives, including the New Neighbors English-language program, the Wright to Read literacy program, and the Early Learning Center; and

2529 WHEREAS, Tammy Mann spearheaded the Forward Together capital campaign that raised $6.7 million to restore and renovate the Campagna Center's facility at 418 S. Washington Street, an endeavor that will benefit many for years to come; and

2731 WHEREAS, beyond the Campagna Center, Tammy Mann has promoted improved outcomes for children and families as board president for the National Association for the Education of Young Children, chair of Alexandria's Children, Youth, and Families Collaborative Commission, and board member of Zero To Three and Kids' First Years; and

2933 WHEREAS, Tammy Mann has contributed to the national discourse about the emotional development of children as a contributor before national committees and as the author of several written publications; and

3135 WHEREAS, in recognition of her accomplishments in service to the children and families of Alexandria, Tammy Mann was named Business Leader of the Year by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce in 2020; now, therefore, be it

3337 RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Tammy Mann, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of the Campagna Center, on the occasion of her retirement from the organization; and, be it

3539 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Tammy Mann, Ph.D., as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for her service to the Alexandria community and best wishes for her future pursuits.
