1519 WHEREAS, the Leesburg Movement is a main street organization dedicated to collaborating with local businesses, residents, nonprofit organizations, and the Town of Leesburg to ensure the quality of historic Downtown Leesburg through advocacy and outreach; and

1721 WHEREAS, the Leesburg Movement has advanced the responsible growth and development of Leesburg by achieving Tier 2 status with the Mobilizing Main Street program of the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) and by securing a community improvement grant from the DHCD's Virginia Main Street program for its Lassiter Way beautification project; and

1923 WHEREAS, as a participant in the DHCD's 2025-2026 Mobilizing Main Street program, the Leesburg Movement will receive extensive assistance and services to revitalize the historic commercial district of Leesburg; and

2125 WHEREAS, the Leesburg Movement has created the Leesburg Listening Room concert series, bringing local musicians together with regional and touring acts to improve cultural opportunities downtown; and

2327 WHEREAS, the Leesburg Movement organizes the Mistletoe Market, featuring small businesses and community activities, every holiday season, in addition to its annual sidewalk sale, business-owner networking meet-ups, and First Friday initiatives, which foster collaboration downtown and create opportunities encouraging community members to support small businesses; and

2529 WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Leesburg Movement are the result of the dedication and hard work of its volunteers, who include business owners and residents of Leesburg's historic district who are committed to safeguarding the economic and cultural vibrancy of Leesburg's downtown; and

2731 WHEREAS, through its efforts to preserve both the character and vitality of downtown Leesburg for generations to come, the Leesburg Movement has helped to make Leesburg a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family; now, therefore, be it

2933 RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Leesburg Movement for its legacy of service; and, be it

3135 RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to representatives of the Leesburg Movement as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for the organization's contributions to Leesburg and the Commonwealth.
